ecoPi-LiveApp
With the ecoPi LiveApp, we provide a clear dashboard in which the functioning of the ecoPis in the field can be monitored on a project-specific basis and transmitted data can be explored.
The app is constantly being optimised and new functionalities added. We are happy to take your feedback and suggestions into account. We will keep you up to date with the latest updates on the start page of the app.
It is not necessary to install the app. It is completely web-based and can be operated with any Internet browser. You will receive the access data for your project directly after installing the ecoPi recorders in your project area.

Functionality of the ecoPi LiveApp
Overview of ecoPi status & detections
Keep an overview of your installed ecoPi recorders!
- Are all recorders functional (sufficient power supply and data capacity)?
- Where exactly are the recorders installed? Do the recorders optimally cover the desired detection area?
- Are species being detected? What are they and how often have they been recorded (e.g. today or since the start of the project)?
Explore detections in detail
Explore the recorded data during the current recording!
Various filter settings allow you to display the data for a selected species in detail.
- When and how often was the selected species recorded during the entire (previous) recording period?
- What is the temporal distribution of detections? Are there any daily and/or seasonal patterns?
- On which recorders was the selected species detected most frequently? What is the spatial distribution of detections?
Validation by audio sample
Check the BirdNet detections for selected species!
You can validate the corresponding detections by listening to them in order to verify the species.
In addition to listening to the detection, you will also be shown the spectrogram, which has various setting options.
Recorded species diversity
Get an overview of the recorded species diversity in your project area!
- How many different species have been detected since the start of the project (or in another selected period)?
- Were approximately the same number of species detected at all recorders? Or are there differences in the species diversity detected?
- How many and which species currently on the German Red List were recorded?
